Terrain is a handwoven, hand-dyed textile that transforms a NASA satellite heat map into a weaving pattern, challenging conventional representations of cartography and land. Long black warp threads disrupt the mapped landscape, symbolizing fractured borders and highlighting regions impacted by current and projected climate change. Through its layered texture and boundary-breaking design, Terrain reflects on the fluidity of landscapes in the face of environmental shifts using natural dyed materials, questioning static interpretations of place and emphasizing the urgent realities of a changing climate.
